Woman advocate alleges sexual assault by Gurugram police; SC seeks FIR copy

New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) The Supreme Court on Thursday heard a plea filed by a woman advocate who has alleged that she was sexually assaulted, beaten, and illegally detained by officials of Sector-50 police station in Gurugram while she was accompanying a client in connection with a matrimonial case.
A bench of justices Prashant Kumar Mishra and AG Masih directed the counsel appearing for the petitioner to produce a copy of the FIR lodged against her by the Gurugram police.
When informed that the FIR had not been supplied despite request, the court suggested that an appropriate application could be made before the chief judicial magistrate concerned.
