Saini suspends two HSPCB regional officers over repeated Gurugram complaints

Panchkula, Oct 2 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday ordered the suspension of two Regional Officers of the Haryana State Pollution Control Board (HSPCB) following repeated complaints from Residents’ Welfare Associations (RWAs) in Gurugram, an official statement said.
The suspended officers are Akansha, Regional Officer, Gurugram North, and Mukul Kumar, Regional Officer, Gurugram South, according to the Haryana Department of Information, Public Relations and Languages (DIPR).
The decision was taken during a review meeting chaired by Saini to assess development works and issues concerning Gurugram, including pollution control and civic infrastructure.
The action against the two officers assumes significance as Gurugram, part of the National Capital Region, faces recurring air pollution concerns, particularly during the winter months.
The HSPCB has separate regional offices for Gurugram North and Gurugram South, responsible for pollution-control regulation and enforcement in their respective jurisdictions.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also reviewed the progress of development projects and civic infrastructure in Gurugram and sought accountability from officials over issues affecting residents.
The suspension of both regional officers indicates a tightening of administrative accountability over pollution-control enforcement in the city, with the state government putting officials on notice over persistent public complaints.UNI KK AAB
