Every grain of paddy to be procured, Haryana CM assures farmers

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini today evening made a surprise visit to the Ladwa Grain Market here to review paddy procurement arrangements, assuring farmers that the state government would purchase every single grain of paddy brought to the mandis and that no farmer would face unnecessary inconvenience during the process.
Saini, who arrived at the grain market without prior notice, personally inspected the paddy stocks that had arrived for procurement and used a moisture-checking machine to verify the moisture levels in the crop. During his visit, he interacted directly with farmers and arhtiyas (commission agents) to understand the ground realities of the procurement process and hear their concerns.
"The state government is serious about safeguarding the interests of farmers," Saini said, pointing that government ministers, MLAs, and he himself were personally inspecting grain markets across the state to ensure smooth operations. He added that directions had been issued to all Deputy Commissioners to closely monitor procurement arrangements, and a senior officer had been appointed as a nodal officer for each grain market to streamline the process and address grievances.
The Chief Minister also appealed to farmers to bring only paddy that meets the prescribed moisture standard of 17 per cent to ensure hassle-free procurement.
Farmers and arhtiyas present at the market urged the Chief Minister to ensure that the procurement process remained smooth and free of bottlenecks.
Saini assured them that the government was committed to protecting their interests. UNI KK SS
