Urdu mandatory for filling NT posts: Newly elected Jammu CCI head asks govt to rectify notification

Jammu, June 12 (UNI) In view of the recent notification issued by the Jammu and Kashmir government making Urdu language mandatory for the aspirants applying for the posts of the Naib Tehsildar, newly elected president of Chamber of Commerce and Industries, Jammu, Arun Gupta on Thursday appealed for rectification in the notification.
“The decision is discriminatory especially with the educated youth of Jammu,” Gupta here told reporters at a press conference while pointing out the recent notification for filling the vacancies of Naib Tehsildar Urdu has been made mandatory.
He was flanked by his elected team for the third consecutive term.

Phagwara, June 15 (UNI) The Punjab police have registered a case against an Italy-based Non-Resident Indian (NRI), identified as Tersem Chand, for allegedly defrauding a villager in Kapurthala district under the pretext of facilitating immigration to Italy, an official said on Sunday
The accused, originally from village Jagatpur-Jattan in Punjab, has come under the police radar following a formal complaint by Arun Kumar, a resident of village Kherra near Phagwara.
