Haryana Police check 648 vehicles in overnight Hansi drive, issue 132 challans

Panchkula, Oct 4 (UNI) Haryana Police checked 648 vehicles and issued 132 challans during an overnight enforcement drive in Hansi aimed at preventing crime, checking suspicious movement, and enforcing traffic rules, a police spokesperson said on Sunday.
The drive was carried out under the supervision of Hansi Superintendent of Police Vinod Kumar, with police teams setting up checkpoints on key roads in the city and surrounding areas. Vehicles were stopped and checked while suspicious persons were questioned, police said.
Haryana Police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar said 648 vehicles were checked during the operation and 132 challans were issued for various traffic violations.
Of these, 17 motorists were challaned for overspeeding, 40 for riding without helmets, 8 for vehicles without number plates, and 1 for driving on the wrong side of the road. Action was also taken against motorists for other traffic violations, the spokesperson said.
Police teams maintained a heightened vigil on suspicious vehicles and individuals during the night-long operation. Vehicles were thoroughly checked to prevent the possible movement of illicit liquor, narcotics, illegal weapons and stolen vehicles, police said.
Police personnel were deployed at major roads, entry and exit points and other sensitive locations as part of the operation.
