Nurpur Police arrest two proclaimed offenders in separate cases

Nurpur, Sep 24 (UNI) Nurpur Police have arrested two proclaimed offenders wanted in separate cases as part of a special drive against persons evading court proceedings, police said on Thursday.
A team of the Proclaimed Offender (PO) Cell arrested Prem Chand (44), a resident of Talyad in Mandi district, on September 22 in a cheque-bounce case registered under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act. He has been declared a proclaimed offender by the JMFC, Nurpur, on February 5, 2020.
In another case, the PO Cell arrested Rashpal Singh (49) from the Talara area on September 23 on the basis of a tip-off.
He is wanted in FIR No. 37/23 registered at Nurpur Police Station under Sections 452, 323, 324 and 504 of the IPC in connection with assault and unlawful entry.
He has been declared a proclaimed offender by the ACJM, Nurpur, on June 8, 2026.
Prem Chand was produced before the JMFC, Nurpur, for further judicial proceedings, while Rashpal Singh was medically examined at Civil Hospital, Nurpur, before being handed over to the MHC of Nurpur Police Station for further legal action.
Nurpur Police said the drive against proclaimed offenders would continue to ensure that those evading court proceedings are brought before the law. UNI AR ATP SAS
