Haryana: 10 people from Nuh booked for embezzling Rs 1.10 lakh through fake registration on Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal

Kaithal, Oct 1 (UNI) A case of fraudulently registering other farmers' land on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal to gain benefits under the Mera Pani-Meri Virasat scheme has come to light.
Following an investigation by the Chief Minister's Flying Squad, Jind, several such cases were uncovered by the Siwan police station, which a case registered against 10 individuals from the Punhana area of Nuh district.
The investigation revealed that Mohammad, a resident of Lahwari, registered 7.438 acres of land in Khanpur village, Siwan tehsil, in his name on the Meri Fasal-Mera Byora portal. Subsequently, he claimed benefits worth Rs ₹59,500 under the Mera Pani-Meri Virasat scheme by showing a cotton crop on this land in the 2025 Kharif season.
Similarly, Yasir, a resident of Lahwari, is accused of falsely registering 6.319 acres of land in Khanpur village in his name on the portal. He claimed benefits worth ₹50,550 under the scheme by registering cotton and millet crops on this land in the 2025 Kharif season. The investigation revealed a total of ₹1,10,050 in unfair benefits in both cases.
It was also revealed that land belonging to farmers in Andhli, Dubal, Deban, Myoli, Ahmedpur Garh, Janaidpur, Umedpur, and Uralana villages in Kaithal district had been registered on the portal in the names of other people.
The case was investigated by Deputy Superintendent of Police, Chief Minister's Flying Squad, Jind, Jeet Singh Beniwal. Based on the investigation, a case was registered at the Siwan police station against Mohammad, Yasir, Asgari, Akbar Khan, Shokin, Tasleem, Talib Hussain, Arman, Dinmod, and Jasmine. The police have begun investigation into the matter.
