Punjab Police nab four accused of robbery, recover arms and ammunition

Rupnagar, June 17 (UNI) The district police claimed to have arrested four accused involved in robbing a couple of cash and gold jewellery on gun point at village Dhadhi near Kiratpur Sahib and recovered arms and ammunition from them.
According to DSP Ajay Singh on the night of June 7, Gautam Bhatia of Faridabad, Haryana had stopped his car on roadside near village Dhadhi falling under Kiratpur Sahib police station, where four unknown persons came in a car and took away some cash, two mobile phones, and a gold chain on gun point.
A case was registered against the unknown persons in this regard.
He said police arrested the accused Deepak Saini of Nabha district Patiala, Ekamjit Singh of Nabha, Varinder Singh of Patiala and Anmol Singh of village Alora falling under Nabha Sadar police station.
He said that two pistols, five live cartridges, car used in the incident, and two snatched mobile phones have been recovered from the accused.
All four accused were drug addicts and tested positive in dope test. A case has also been registered against them, he said.
Accused are on police remand. Further investigation is being done, he added.

Chandigarh, June 17 (UNI) Punjab Police’s State Cyber Crime Division has busted an inter-state
gang allegedly involved in investment fraud with the arrest of two people from Panchkula and Abohar,
said DGP Punjab Gaurav Yadav here on Tuesday.
The modus operandi used by this gang was to lure innocent persons into their trap by offering high profits in stock market investment through Telegram and WhatsApp groups.
