Gram Sabhas across Haryana on Oct 2, Rural participation to be key focus

Panchkula, Oct 1 (UNI) Gram Sabhas will be held across Haryana on October 2 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., with the State Development and Panchayats Department directing officials to ensure maximum participation by villagers and the completion of proceedings in accordance with the prescribed agenda and guidelines.
Additional Chief Secretary, Development and Panchayats Department, Vijayendra Kumar, and Director, Development and Panchayats, Sushil Sarwan, reviewed preparations through video conference and directed officials to ensure that all arrangements at the village level were completed in a time-bound manner.
The Gram Sabhas will be organised as per the scheduled programme on October 2, with officials and employees concerned asked to ensure the meetings are conducted effectively and systematically.
The department has laid particular emphasis on maximum participation of rural residents, seeking to strengthen people's involvement in deliberations at the village level.
During the review, officials were asked to ensure that proceedings at the Gram Sabhas were conducted strictly in accordance with the prescribed agenda and guidelines, and that necessary preparations were completed in advance.
In Panchkula, Additional Deputy Commissioner Vivek Arya, District Development and Panchayat Officer Vishal Parashar, Deputy Chief Executive Officer Sanjay Tank, Block Development and Panchayat Officers and other officials participated in the review.
The Development and Panchayats Department and district administration have appealed to Gram Panchayats to mobilise villagers for the October 2 meetings and ensure their maximum participation.
