UP govt to hold RO, ARO exam on July 27

Lucknow, Apr 27 (UNI) The Uttar Pradesh government is set to conduct the Review Officer (RO) and Assistant Review Officer (ARO) examination on July 27, official sources said here on Sunday.
Sources said that following Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's directives, the officials have been tasked with ensuring the examination is conducted smoothly, with full integrity and transparency. "CM Yogi has said that security arrangements must be so tight that 'not even a bird can flap its wings' during the exam. Following his clear instructions, preparations across the state have been intensified to ensure a fair and flawless process," they said.
Sources said that the examination will be held across all 75 districts of UP, with approximately 10,76,004 candidates expected to participate. "To accommodate them, more than 2,000 examination centers are being set up throughout the state," they said.
Sources said that in line with the vision of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, clear guidelines have been set for selecting and finalising exam centres for the upcoming RO/ARO exam. "A high-level committee, led by the District Magistrate and comprising senior officials like the SSP, ADM, District Inspector of School, and Technical Education Officer, has been formed to carry out the task," they said.
Sources said that the exam centres have been divided into two categories. "Category A includes government or government-aided higher secondary schools, government colleges, universities, polytechnic institutes and government medical colleges. Category B will include reputed private institutions that have previously performed well in conducting exams," they said.
Sources said that in total, 2,242 centres with a seating capacity of 480 candidates each and 2,803 centres with a seating capacity of 384 candidates each, have been identified. "So far, according to reports from 63 out of 75 districts, arrangements have been made for 7,63,532 candidates across 1,750 centres. Centres for the remaining 3,12,472 candidates are still being finalised," they said.
Sources said that according to the set standards, exam centres should be located within 10 km of a bus stand, railway station or treasury and must be in urban areas to ensure easy access to transportation and basic facilities. "Besides, the number of candidates in one exam shift will be limited to 5 lakh to ensure smooth management. If the number of candidates in a district is very high, the exam will be conducted in two shifts," they said.
Sources said that CM Yogi will personally oversee preparations to ensure effective governance and transparency. "To bolster security, police forces will be deployed, CCTV cameras installed and flying squads along with confidential inspection teams will remain active," they said.
Sources said that prohibitory orders will be enforced around exam centres and any disorder or malpractice will be dealt with strictly. "Under CM Yogi's leadership, this initiative aims to set new standards of fairness, merit and transparency in the exam system of UP," they said.
