Ex President Ram Nath Kovind to inaugurate Narayan Seva free artificial limb fitting camp in Lucknow on Nov 1

Lucknow, Oct 30 (UNI) Narayan Seva Sansthan, Udaipur, is organising a free artificial limb fitting camp on November 1 in Lucknow. Former President Ram Nath Kovind will inaugurate the camp at which 432 persons with disabilities will receive artificial limbs.
At least 549 modular Narayan Limbs and calipers, manufactured using Japanese-German technology, will be fitted on the 432 persons free of cost.
Ram Nath Kovind, the 14 President of India, will inaugurate the camp at 11 a.m.
The camp will provide 270 technologically advanced artificial limbs and 279 calipers to pre-selected beneficiaries.
The modular technology allows artificial limbs to be fitted and adjusted according to each beneficiary’s physical structure and individual requirements.
Their lightweight and user-friendly design ensures greater comfort and ease of use.
A team of specialists will carry out the fittings and train beneficiaries in walking, maintaining balance and using the artificial limbs effectively.
Ramesh Sharma, Camp In-charge at Narayan Seva Sansthan, said the institution’s objective goes beyond providing artificial limbs.
It aims to enable persons with disabilities to participate more independently in everyday life.
Modern technology, expert guidance and practical training help beneficiaries improve their mobility and gain confidence.
He added that the Sansthan organises such camps across the country to address physical challenges arising from accidents, illnesses or congenital disabilities.
Organised under the guidance of Sansthan President Prashant Agarwal, the camp reflects a commitment to combining technological expertise with humanitarian service.
Badri Lal Sharma, Lucknow Ashram In-charge, said free meals, seating arrangements and first-aid facilities would be available for beneficiaries and their accompanying family members.
He emphasised that artificial limb fitting is not merely about restoring mobility but also about promoting self-reliance, dignity and greater social participation.
According to the Sansthan, more than 41,200 persons with disabilities have received artificial limbs free of cost in India and abroad, while over 4.54 lakh have received free medical treatment.
Guided by the motto “Nar Seva Hi Narayan Seva” (Service to Humanity is Service to the Divine), the institution continues to bring modern assistive technology to those in need, helping them lead more independent, empowered and dignified lives.
