Haryana CM suspends two officials, including a patwari accused of misbehaving with a retired CMO's daughter

Chandigarh, Nov 4 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Wednesday ordered the suspension of two officials, including a revenue official accused of misbehaving with a retired chief medical officer's daughter, and directed salary cuts for three others over alleged negligence and misconduct.
The action came at a district grievance redressal committee meeting, where Saini disposed of 11 of 15 complaints and ordered investigations into the remaining four.
Patwari Mandeep Hooda was suspended after a complaint that he had behaved improperly with Ritool Yadav, daughter of the late Dr K.C. Yadav, a retired chief medical officer, when she sought a legal heir certificate.
Municipal Corporation of Gurugram Executive Engineer Sunder Sheoran was separately suspended over alleged irregularities in the handling of mechanical road-sweeping machines.
"Serving the public and resolving their grievances is the duty of government officials. Any negligence will not be tolerated," Saini said, according to an account of the meeting.
Advocate Rajesh Kumar told the committee that Ritool Yadav had approached Hooda with her mother and brother to obtain a legal heir certificate following her father's death.
The certificate was required to transfer property records with the Haryana Shahari Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP).
Kumar alleged that Hooda refused to acknowledge the family's identity and behaved improperly. Other residents also complained about the official's conduct, prompting Saini to order his suspension.
In the second case, Sheoran faced action over allegations that mechanical sweeping machines had not been properly handed over and that some components were missing.
Municipal Commissioner Pradeep Dahiya had recommended disciplinary proceedings against Sheoran to the Urban Local Bodies Department three days earlier, according to details of the case.
Saini also directed that the salaries of a municipal engineer and a building inspector at the Pataudi-Jatauli Mandi Municipal Council be reduced by 50% for three months over alleged negligence in handling property identification records.
He ordered disciplinary proceedings against both officials and directed their transfer outside the National Capital Region.
A Public Works Department official was separately ordered to face a one-month salary deduction following complaints of negligence in road repair work.
The chief minister said government employees were responsible for ensuring that public services were delivered efficiently and that citizens were not subjected to unnecessary delays.
Of the 15 complaints considered at the meeting, 11 were resolved immediately, while officials were instructed to investigate the remaining four and submit reports before the next meeting.
The meeting also took up electricity supply problems affecting industries in Gurugram.
Kanwar Singh June, general secretary of the Pioneer Industrial Park Welfare Association, sought early construction of a 33-kilovolt electricity substation to improve power supply in the industrial area.
Saini directed officials to complete the tendering process within a month and begin construction on land made available by Ansal.
June said the proposed substation would benefit around 100 factories. An outstanding amount of Rs 4.06 crore towards the project was to be recovered from Ansal API or the industrial association.
Saini asked departments to ensure timely implementation of decisions taken at grievance meetings and warned that officials responsible for delays in resolving public complaints would face action.
