94 J&K students return from Iran; calls for speeding up evacuation of those still stranded

Srinagar, June 20 (UNI) At least 94 students from Jammu and Kashmir, part of the first batch of Indian nationals evacuated from war-hit Iran, have safely returned to the Valley.

As families breathe a sigh of relief, many parents whose children are still stranded in Iran have urged the Central government to expedite evacuation efforts. They have appealed for an increase in the number of daily rescue flights, stressing the need to bring back the remaining students still stranded in the conflict zone.

Dharamshala, June 25 (UNI) Union Minister of State in the Ministry of Corporate Affairs Harsh Malhotra, who was scheduled to attend a BJP programme in connection with 50 years of Emergency, could not reach here today as the Indigo flight in which he was traveling could not land at Kàngra Airport due to bad weather. The flight returned to Delhi.

Phagwara, June 25 (UNI) A major road accident was averted today near the Radha Soami Satsang Dera on the National Highway near Goraya when a high-speed truck hit a stationary tipper loaded with gas cylinders, causing the tipper to fall off the flyover, police and eyewitnesses said.
