Omar led govt strives to bridge gaps, boost development: Farooq Abdullah

Srinagar, June 20 (UNI) The J&K National conference President Farooq Abdullah Friday said that the democratically elected government led by Omar Abdullah is working to overcome developmental setbacks and bridge the existing disconnect between the people and the administration.

He emphasised that the government is committed to inclusive progress and is prioritizing infrastructure development, better delivery of public services, and effective communication with grassroots communities.

He made these comments while interacting with the party functionaries in Jammu.

A party statement quoting Abdullah said that a people-centric approach is at the core of the NC’s vision, and the current administration is actively addressing issues that have long hindered equitable development across regions.

“Our goal is to ensure that no area feels neglected and that governance reaches every doorstep,” Abdullah stated.

He also reiterated the NC’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and public welfare, calling for collective support in building a stronger, more connected Jammu & Kashmir.

Meanwhile NC Provincial vice President and MLA Lal Chowk Ahsan Pardesi Friday facilitated a meeting between the Badami Bagh Cantonment authorities and local residents from Shivpora, Batwara, Indra Nagar, and Sonwar areas under the jurisdiction of the Cantonment.

A party statement said the meeting was held in the presence of Station Commander Brigadier Udhai Jawa and CEO of the Badami Bagh Cantonment Board Irfan Hafeez.

“ The meeting was a first-of-its-kind formal interaction between the civil population and the Cantonment administration,” the statement said

Residents engaged in healthy and constructive discussions, raising long-standing grievances and pressing developmental issues.

On the occasion, Pardesi emphasized that such engagement is crucial in building public trust and addressing long-pending civic issues affecting thousands of residents.
