BJP govt is for few capitalists, has no sympathy for small traders: SP MP Rajiv Rai

Varanasi, Oct 30 (UNI) Samajwadi Party (SP) Ghosi MP Rajiv Rai has accused the BJP government of neglecting small traders, saying that the BJP government is only for a few capitalists and has no sympathy for retailers, street vendors, kiosks, and stall owners.
Rai was addressing the 18th PDA Traders' Mandal Conference organised by the Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha at Saroja Palace in Piplani Katra, Varanasi on Friday. More than two thousand traders and representatives of the Vaishya community from Varanasi, Chandauli, Jaunpur, and Ghazipur participated in the conference.
He said that the BJP government made many promises to traders, but they are suffering on the ground. To expand their business, traders need facilities and an environment of trust. He assured that if the SP forms the government in 2027, the problems of traders will be resolved through legislation.
Samajwadi Vyapar Sabha National President Manish Jagan Agarwal also accused the government of trying to eliminate small shopkeepers and hand over the business to large corporate houses.
State President Pradeep Jaiswal said that SP governments have always worked in the interests of traders. The conference resolved to form an SP government in the upcoming assembly elections and make Akhilesh Yadav the Chief Minister.
