Haryana CM Saini Says Every Grain of Paddy Will Be Procured, Inspects Ladwa Mandi

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini on Friday said the state government will procure every grain of eligible paddy arriving in mandis and would ensure farmers did not face unnecessary difficulties during the procurement season.
Saini made the remarks during a surprise inspection of the Ladwa grain market in Kurukshetra district, where he personally checked the moisture content of paddy using a testing machine and interacted with farmers and commission agents.
“The government is serious about protecting the interests of farmers. Every single grain of paddy brought by farmers to the mandi will be procured,” Saini said.
He said ministers, legislators and senior officials were visiting mandis to monitor procurement arrangements, while deputy commissioners had been directed to closely supervise operations. A senior officer had also been designated as nodal officer for each mandi, he added.
Saini urged farmers to bring paddy conforming to the prescribed moisture limit of 17%, saying adherence to quality norms would help ensure smooth procurement.
Farmers and commission agents raised issues related to procurement during their interaction with the chief minister and sought measures to ensure uninterrupted lifting and purchase of the crop.
