Olympian Tejinderpal Singh Toor Gets Warm Welcome in Patiala After Third Straight Asian Games Medal

Chandigarh, Oct 2 (UNI) Olympian and Punjab Police DSP Tejinderpal Singh Toor was accorded a warm welcome in Patiala after returning with his third consecutive Asian Games medal in shot put.
Toor, who won gold medals at the previous two Asian Games, secured silver this time and was welcomed at Punjabi University by athletes, residents and officials.
“Due to injuries sustained earlier, I could not win the gold medal this time,” Toor said, adding that with the support of his family, department and the Punjab government, he would work hard to win gold in upcoming international competitions.
He said the state government was providing athletes support ranging from training camps to participation in international competitions.
Punjab MLA Gurlal Ghanour said Toor’s achievement would encourage young athletes to pursue sport.
“Toor’s remarkable achievement is a major source of inspiration for young sportspersons,” Ghanour said.
He expressed hope that the Olympian would deliver an even stronger performance in upcoming international competitions and win more medals for the country.
