The changing weather conditions are associated with multiple atmospheric systems affecting northwest India.

At a few places in these regions, minimum temperatures were appreciably above normal by 3.1–5 degrees Celsius, while departures of 1.6–3 degrees Celsius were recorded at some other locations.
Maximum temperatures were near normal at a few places in Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi.
The weather department said rainfall had occurred at most places in Himachal Pradesh during the observation period from 8.30 am on October 10 to 5.30 am on October 11. Sundernagar in Mandi district recorded one centimetre of rainfall.
The IMD has also indicated that conditions are becoming favourable for further withdrawal of the southwest monsoon from some more parts of eastern India and the northern peninsula, as well as many parts of northeast India, over the next two to three days.
The department has advised people to remain cautious during thunderstorms, avoid taking shelter under trees during lightning and secure loose objects that could be displaced by strong winds.
Farmers have been advised to protect harvested produce by shifting it to safer locations or covering it with tarpaulin sheets. The department has also recommended providing mechanical support to horticultural crops and vulnerable plants to minimise damage from strong winds.
Elsewhere in the country, the IMD has forecast isolated to scattered rainfall over West Madhya Pradesh on October 11 and 12 and Chhattisgarh between October 12 and 16.
