Eatala Rajender launches Maha Padayatra demanding relocation of Jawahar Nagar dumping yard

Hyderabad, Oct 27 (UNI) Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender on Tuesday launched a four-day Maha Padayatra demanding the immediate relocation of the Jawahar Nagar dumping yard, highlighting the health and environmental problems faced by residents of surrounding areas.
Rajender began the foot march at Edulabad after offering special prayers at the Ranganatha Swamy Temple. Temple priests welcomed him with a Purna Kumbham, while several BJP leaders participated in the programme.
BJP Telangana State President N Ramchander Rao joined the march and extended his support to the movement. He alleged that the dumping yard had contaminated the air and groundwater, causing serious health problems among local residents, including children.
He accused the State government of neglecting the hardships faced by people in the surrounding areas and asserted that the BJP would continue its agitation until the dumping yard was permanently relocated.
The four-day padayatra, scheduled from October 27 to 30, will cover several localities, including Marripalligudem, NFC Nagar, Annojiguda, Ghatkesar, Yamnampet, Rampally, Keesara, Chiryala, Nagaram and Dammaiguda, before culminating at Jawahar Nagar.
