Two books on Emergency authored by Goa Governor PS Sreedharan Pillai released

Thiruvananthapurm, June 24 (UNI) Two English books authored by Goa Governor P.S. Sreedharan Pillai on Emergency period (1975-77) have been released here today.
The two books, ‘Democracy Enchained – Nation Disgraced’ published by Konark Publishers, New Delhi, and ‘Shah Commission: Echoes from a Buried Report’ published by Indus Scrolls, New Delhi, were released in the presence of eminent people from the fields of arts, literature, culture and politics.
Kerala Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar and Governor of Andhra Pradesh S. Abdul Nazeer formally released the books.
Speaking on the occasion, the Goa Governor said, "I dedicate these books to those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against the Emergency and to those who endured the brutal oppression of the regime and continue to live as the walking wounded. The love and regard you show me have always been the greatest inspiration for my writing and my work."
