Left parties throws hat into the ring, to contest TN bypolls, says no threat to Vijay govt stability

Chennai, Sep 14 (UNI) The two Left Parties, CPI and CPI(M), extending outside support to the ruling TVK of Vijay, on Sunday decided to throw their hat into the ring, and decided to field their candidates in the October six bypolls for the two Assembly seats in Tamil Nadu, while categorically ruling out any threat to the government in view of their entering the poll fray.
The decision of the Left parties to contest the two seats, has turned the bypolls into a tough five-cornered contest featuring TVK, the main Opposition DMK, AIADMK and Naam Tamizhar Katchi (NTK) of actor-director Seeman.
Addressing separarate press conferences, top CPI and CPI(M) leaders said they have decided to contest the bypolls to Dharapuram (R) and Madurantakam (R) seats respectively, as they were not part of any front in the state, while reiterating their commitment to continue their outside support to the ruling TVK, which they said has to continuously strive for upholding secularism.
