Telangana ACB Registers DA Case against Police Inspector; Assets Estimated at Rs 2.28 Cr

Hyderabad, Oct 17 (UNI) The Telangana Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has registered a disproportionate assets (DA) case against Arkappally Anjaneyulu, Inspector of Police at Keesara Police Station under the Medchal-Malkajgiri Police Commissionerate, after searches allegedly revealed assets worth Rs 2.28 crore, the Agency said on Saturday.
The case was registered by City Range-I on allegations that the inspector had acquired assets disproportionate to his known sources of income through corrupt practices and dubious means during his service, the ACB said in a release.
Preliminary searches were conducted on Saturday at his residence, office and four other locations linked to his relatives, associates and alleged benamidars.
During the searches, officials reportedly found property documents relating to two plots of 150 square yards each with an old house at Lingojiguda in Saroornagar, valued at Rs 30 lakh; an old house measuring 240 square yards at CR Enclave, Mansoorabad, LB Nagar, valued at Rs 40 lakh; an under-construction house measuring 180 square yards at Perur village, valued at Rs 50 lakh; and two acres of agricultural land at Haliya in Miryalaguda, valued at Rs 80 lakh.
Further enquiries indicated that the officer had allegedly acquired additional agricultural land at Haliya, the release said.
The ACB stated that the market value of the properties could be substantially higher than their official valuation.
Searches also resulted in the seizure of Rs 7 lakh in cash, gold ornaments weighing 60 tulas and valued at approximately Rs 5 lakh, a Maruti Vitara Brezza ZDi BSVI car worth around Rs 6.5 lakh, and household articles and electronic gadgets valued at Rs 10 lakh. Verification of additional assets is underway, the release said.
The ACB also said that On September 16, 2026, while serving at Keesara Police Station, the Inspector was allegedly caught red-handed after demanding Rs 8 lakh and accepting Rs 5 lakh through sub-inspector D. Gyanender Reddy for an official favour.
According to the release, Anjaneyulu was arrested on September 17 and produced before the ACB court.
He is currently lodged in Chanchalguda Central Prison.
He will be produced before the court in the present disproportionate assets case on a PT warrant.
The ACB said the investigation was continuing.
