Telangana Governor calls for strengthening national unity and integrity on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas

Hyderabad, Oct 30 (UNI) Telangana Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla on Friday called upon people to reaffirm their commitment to national unity, integrity and security on the eve of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, observed on October 31 to mark the 151st birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
In his message, the Governor paid tributes to Patel, recalling his contribution to the freedom struggle and, in particular, his historic role in the integration of princely states, which laid the foundation for a united India.
He said Patel's vision, courage and determination continued to inspire generations and underscored the importance of unity, discipline and collective responsibility in nation-building.
The Governor urged people from all walks of life to uphold the spirit of unity in diversity and work towards building a strong, peaceful and prosperous country.
Emphasising that national unity and integrity were collective responsibilities, he called upon citizens, particularly the youth, to draw inspiration from Patel's ideals and contribute to safeguarding the country's sovereignty and strengthening its social fabric.
He appealed to people to observe Rashtriya Ekta Diwas with renewed commitment to national unity, mutual respect and fraternity.

Six killed as helicopter crashes in Uttarakhand; all bodies recovered

Bengaluru/Dehradun, Oct 30 (UNI) Six people, including a pilot and five passengers from Karnataka, were killed when a civil helicopter operated by Trans Bharat Aviation crashed in the Hathi Parvat area of Uttarakhand on Friday afternoon. The mortal remains of all six victims have been recovered, the Karnataka government said.
