Telangana left parties demand end to Israel's war on Gaza, announce Palestine solidarity day on June 19

Hyderabad, June 14 (UNI) Leaders of various Left parties in Telangana met at the CPI(M) state office, MB Bhavan, on Saturday and strongly condemned what they termed as Israel’s ongoing “genocidal war” against Palestinians in Gaza.
The meeting, presided over by CPI(M) State Secretary John Wesley, was attended by representatives from CPI, CPI(ML) New Democracy, CPI(ML) Liberation, and SUCI(C).
Key leaders present included Pashya Padma (CPI), Julakanti Rangareddy (CPI), Vemulapalli Venkatramaiah and Govardhan (CPI-ML New Democracy), Rameshraja (CPI-ML Liberation), and Murahari (SUCI-C).
The Left parties decried the continued bombing and airstrikes by Israel over the past 20 months, which they said had claimed the lives of nearly 50,000 Palestinians, including women and children. They also accused Israel of targeting civilian infrastructure like hospitals, schools, and refugee camps, while blocking food and aid.
Despite global condemnation, including from the United Nations, the leaders alleged that Israel’s actions are being enabled by the support of the United States and some of its allies. The meeting also expressed concern over Israel’s recent escalation involving Iran.
The Left parties demanded that the Indian government denounce Israel’s actions and immediately end all military and security cooperation with it. In solidarity with Palestine, the All-India Left parties have called for a nationwide observance of Palestine Solidarity Day on June 19.
As part of this initiative, protest programs will be held across all district headquarters in Telangana on that day. The leaders urged the public, democratic forces, and peace-loving citizens to participate in large numbers to express their support for the Palestinian people, a statement said.
