Rs 600-crore HiLITE Cyber Tower to create 10,000 IT jobs in Kerala

Kozhikode, Oct 4 (UNI) Chief Minister V. D. Satheesan has performed the groundbreaking ceremony of HiLITE Cyber Tower, a ₹600-crore Grade A IT hub at Cyberpark here, which is expected to create more than 10,000 direct IT employment opportunities and strengthen Kozhikode's position as a major IT destination in Keralam.
Spread across 2.5 acres with a built-up area of nine lakh square feet, the project is designed to accommodate multinational corporations (MNCs), high-growth start-ups and advanced research and development (R&D) centres. The state-of-the-art IT infrastructure project is scheduled for completion within two years and will be pre-released ahead of its completion.
The project is part of HiLITE Group's larger plan to develop 12 million square feet of office space over the next few years and is expected to accelerate technological, commercial and socio-economic development in Malabar, particularly Kozhikode.
The Chief Minister said the government was seeking to reimagine Keralam by prioritising advanced technologies and innovation, and described the project by HiLITE Group and its Chairman P. Sulaiman as a significant step in that direction.
"With new development projects spanning 50 million square feet expected to be completed by 2030, including this IT complex built by HiLITE, around two lakh job opportunities will be created within Keralam," Satheesan said.
He said the government aimed to position Kozhikode as a major IT destination alongside Thiruvananthapuram and Kochi.
"Grade-A IT initiatives like the HiLITE Cyber Tower can showcase Keralam's highly cost-effective and skilled talent pool to the world. The government will extend its full support to such projects that emphasise innovation and development," he said.
"The government's approach will be to support and embrace investors and entrepreneurs who step forward for the state's development," the Chief Minister added.
Industries, IT and AI Minister P. K. Kunhalikutty said Kozhikode would emerge as a major IT destination following the development of Technopark in Thiruvananthapuram and Infopark in Kochi.
"Having witnessed HiLITE Group's growth and execution capabilities since its inception, I am confident they will successfully complete this project as well. It is precisely when such mega-projects materialise that other premier developers and project promoters queue up to invest in Calicut," he said.
Kunhalikutty said employment opportunities suited to the new generation could be created through the growth of industries and enterprises, and assured support for efforts to transform Kozhikode, a city with a centuries-old trading legacy, into a globally recognised IT and industrial hub.
The Cyber Tower is envisioned as a modern IT infrastructure hub offering flexible and future-ready workspaces for global companies, start-ups and R&D institutions. The Grade A building has been designed to meet stringent green standards, with emphasis on smart, sustainable and energy-efficient infrastructure.
The building will provide workspaces intended to facilitate global collaboration, innovation and digital transformation, while catering to the requirements of businesses seeking to establish or expand their presence in Keralam.
"People choose cities and countries because they offer something that draws them there. Our ambition is to build a Keralam that offers its people the opportunities to build their lives and careers, while also becoming a place that attracts talent and businesses from across the world. We want to contribute to a Keralam that is not only known for what it has, but for what it can offer," HiLITE Group Chairman P. Sulaiman said.
HiLITE Group CEO Ajil Muhammed said technology was changing the way people worked, built businesses and created opportunities, and that Keralam needed an ecosystem that enabled businesses to grow along with its talent pool.
"HiLITE Cyber Tower is part of that effort. Through our IT developments, we want to create environments that enable businesses to innovate, expand and build what comes next in Keralam," he said.
The development builds on HiLITE Group's growing IT presence in Keralam. Construction of HiLITE Cyber Hub is already under way in Kozhikode, while YOO Hub Trivandrum, described by the group as India's first branded IT Park at Technopark Phase III, has also been launched.
The ceremony was attended by Revenue Minister A. P. Anil Kumar, Member of Parliament M. K. Raghavan, MLAs Fyzal Babu, M. A. Razak Master, K. Praveen Kumar, K. Jayanth and P. M. A. Sameer, Special Secretary, Department of Electronics and Information Technology Seeram Sambasiva Rao IAS, CEO of Infopark Keralam and Cyberpark Kozhikode Susanth Kurunthil, P. Sulaiman, Ajil Muhammed, Principal and Partner of Stapati Architects Tony Joseph, political and civic representatives and employees of HiLITE Group.
