3 security personnel killed in blast triggered by Maoists

Mulugu (Telangana), May 8 (UNI) At least three security personnel were killed in an IED blast triggered by Maoists in the forests of Veerabhadrapuram-Perur in the district on Thursday.

The incident occurred when Telangana Greyhounds police were carrying out regular combing operations in the forest area, the police said.

After triggering the improvised explosive device, the Maoists also opened fire at the police.

Sources said some police personnel were also injured either in blast or firing.

Further details are awaited.
