NRC will be 100 times worse than SIR: Owaisi

Hyderabad, Sep 14 (UNI) AIMIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday criticised the BJP-led Centre over the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), National Register of Citizens (NRC), Special Intensive Revision (SIR) and proposed Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
In a post on social media platform X, Owaisi said the “misplaced arrogance” of union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP's “chronology” had triggered the anti-CAA/NRC movement in 2019.
He recalled that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had then stated that there would be no NRC.
