Postal Dept issues alert against job scams

Kochi, May 5 (UNI) The Central Region of Postal Department has issued warning against job scams following the arrest of two persons.
The public advisory has been issued after the arrest of Ms Mary Deena and Gheevar K Reji – both residents of Valiyaparambil House, Elamkunnapuzha – for extorting money by falsely promising job placement as 'Sorting Assistant' in Thrissur RMS, Department of Posts, a release said on Monday.
The Postal Department has reiterated that it does not charge any fees for recruitment other than the prescribed application fee.
"The recruitment process is fully transparent. All official notifications are published through Print Media/ Digital Media/ Official website of India Post."
India Post does not authorise any individual or agency to act as job agents or intermediaries, it added.
The public can report any suspicious job offers or agents immediately to authorities through the official website 'www.indiapost.gov.in' or email '[email protected]'.
