Hyderabad, May 21 (UNI) Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed officials across the state to remain on high alert as Hyderabad and several other districts continue to receive heavy rainfall.
With the India Meteorological Department forecasting more rain over the next three days, the Chief Minister urged all departments to take precautionary measures to avoid disruption and ensure public safety.
Revanth Reddy instructed District Collectors to safeguard harvested grain at procurement centres and market yards, emphasising the need to prevent damage by promptly shifting paddy stocks to
rice mills.
He also directed officials to ensure that residents in low-lying areas are not affected by waterlogging or flooding.
In Hyderabad, the Chief Minister ordered municipal and civic bodies to take immediate action to prevent water stagnation on roads and to avoid traffic disruptions and power outages.
He called for close coordination between the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), Police, Hyderabad Traffic Police, and the Electricity Department to address rain-related challenges efficiently, an official statement said on Wednesday.
