No word from govt, says stampede victim's father

Bengaluru, June 10 (UNI) “Our children died before our eyes. Is that not enough to at least deserve a visit or a word of comfort?” These searing words from BT Lakshman, the father of a child killed in the recent stampede, have laid bare the deep anguish and growing resentment among grieving families over what they allege is government apathy.
The father, speaking to the media, said no government representative, including the chief minister or his deputy, had visited or reached out to the family following the tragedy. “Someone from the Revenue Department called and asked if I was home, saying the DCM might visit. I replied I was going to Bengaluru the next day and would speak after that. Since then, no one has called, come, or said anything,” he said.
“No one met me. No one spoke to me. If you ask what this means, it means the government is being negligent,” he said, holding back emotions.
