Telangana Cyber Security Bureau signs MoU to boost cyber defence with Google and Arete

Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) In a major step towards bolstering cyber security, the Telangana Cyber Security Bureau (TGCSB) signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Saturday to enhance the cyber resilience of the Telangana Police.
As the Director of TGCSB also serves as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) for Telangana Police, the bureau plays a critical role in both cybercrime investigation and the active monitoring and mitigation of cybersecurity threats across the state.
Under the terms of the MoU, Google will implement its cloud-based Security Operations Centre (SOC), Google SecOps, through Ilois Digital — an authorised implementation partner of Google Cloud India Private Limited, a police statement said.
This advanced SOC solution, offered at no cost, provides round-the-clock monitoring and response to malicious threats, captures real-time data from networks and internet packets, and leverages deep analytics and threat intelligence to detect and flag cyber incidents.
Additionally, the MoU includes a provision for Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) services from Arete IR LLP. Arete will deploy the SentinelOne EDR solution for TGCSB, also at no cost. The EDR platform will deliver 24/7 threat monitoring, detection, analysis, and response services focused on securing endpoint devices across the Telangana Police’s IT infrastructure.
The MoU signing ceremony took place at the TGCSB Headquarters in Hyderabad, with representatives from TGCSB, Google, Ilois Digital, SentinelOne, and Arete IR LLP in attendance.
The agreement, which will remain in effect for three years, also includes capacity-building measures, including specialized training for Telangana Police personnel in cybersecurity incident handling and response.
Prominent attendees included Ms Shikha Goel, IPS, Director, TGCSB; Harshvardhan, IPS, SP Cyber Security, TGCSB; Muthusamy Dharanidharan, Director, Ilois Digital Private Limited; Sandeep Kumar Peshkar, Senior Vice President, Arete IR LLP; Jyothi Prakash, Business Head, Google Security; and Sasidhar Vellamcheti, Staff Solutions Engineer, SentinelOne India, along with other TGCSB officials and staff.
Speaking at the event, Ms. Shikha Goel said, “It gives me great pride to sign the MoU for the Security Operations Centre and Endpoint Detection & Response solution.
This is a pivotal step in proactively identifying and neutralizing security threats, and in strengthening the cyber defence capabilities of Telangana Police. Together, these initiatives reflect our steadfast commitment to safeguarding digital assets and establishing a resilient cybersecurity framework, ” she added.
