TTD to Add 20 More Electric Buses to Tirumala Fleet

Tirumala, Oct 13 (UNI) The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) will add 20 more electric buses to its free Srivari Dharma Ratham service to improve transport facilities for pilgrims and help reduce air pollution in Tirumala, TTD General Manager (Transport) Ramu said on Tuesday.
Addressing the media here, he said TTD was currently operating 38 electric buses on two routes, with a bus available every three minutes.
The service had been expanded from 30 trips a day, catering to around 35,000 devotees, to 650 trips, benefiting nearly 85,000 pilgrims daily, he said.
The additional buses would further strengthen the eco-friendly transport network in Tirumala, he added.
Ramu said TTD was also considering installing digital display boards at all bus stops to provide real-time information on bus arrival and departure timings.
Plans were also being examined to establish smart bus stations to improve passenger convenience and streamline transport services for devotees visiting the hill shrine, he added.
