Southwest monsoon advances further over Arabian Sea and Bay of Bengal: Met

Amaravati, May 17 (UNI) The Southwest Monsoon has further advanced over additional parts of the south Arabian Sea, Maldives & Comorin area, South Bay of Bengal, remaining parts of the Andaman Islands and Andaman Sea, and some parts of the east-central Bay of Bengal, according to the Meteorological Centre here on Saturday.
In its daily weather report, the centre stated that conditions remain favourable for the further advancement of the Southwest Monsoon into more parts of the south Arabian Sea, Maldives & Comorin area, additional parts of the South and central Bay of Bengal, and parts of the northeast Bay of Bengal over the next 3–4 days.
The upper air cyclonic circulation that was observed over Coastal Andhra Pradesh on Friday now lies over the west-central Bay of Bengal and adjoining north Coastal Andhra Pradesh at about 1.5 km above mean sea level.
