Low Pressure likely to form over North Andaman sea today

Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) A Low Pressure area is likely to form over North Andaman sea on Saturday evening and it is likely to intensify gradually in the next 3-4 days.
Met office in an update today said the upper-air cyclonic circulation over north Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persisted over the same region and now extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level at 0530 hrs of today.
Under its influence, a Low Pressure area is likely to form over the same region around the evening of today, the 19th September, 2026. Thereafter, it is likely to intensify gradually and move west-northwestwards towards south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh coasts during subsequent 3-4 days.

BRS hits out at Telangana Police over viral video of woman being dragged

Hyderabad, Sep 19 (UNI) BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) on Saturday criticised the Telangana Police over a viral video purportedly showing a woman being dragged by police personnel, alleging that the force had lost public confidence and accusing it of "impunity and arrogance."
Reacting to the video in a social media post, KTR alleged that the police were selective in their response to cases involving political leaders and their relatives while taking an aggressive approach towards members of the public and political opponents.

Chennai, Sep 19 (UNI) Reiterating its strong opposition to Hindi imposition, while reaffirming its firm committment of sticking to the long followed two-language policy, the Tamil Nadu government said it would not allow Navodya schools that follows the CBSE stream of education, in the State, even as the main Opposition DMK objected to Navodaya schools and wanted the government to convene a Special Assembly session and adopt a resolution, if necessary.

States need financial support for climate disaster preparedness: Minister T Siddique
