Low Pressure area over bay to become Depression, to intensify further, move towards AP coast

Chennai, Oct 30 (UNI) The Low Pressure Area over the Bay will concentrate into a Depression, intensify further and is likely to move towards the Andhra Pradesh coast in the next two days.
In a bulletin on Friday morning, IMD said the Low Pressure Area over South Andaman Sea and neighbourhood persisted over the same region at 0530 hrs of today. It is very likely to move west-northwestwards and concentrate into a Depression over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas of Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Andaman Sea tomorrow.
Thereafter, it is likely to intensify further and continue to move west-northwestwards towards Andhra Pradesh coast during the subsequent 2 days.
According to the latest update, the system was unlikely to hit the Tamil Nadu coast as predicted earlier. Yesterday, soon after the fresh Low Pressure area formed over the Bay, the fourth in succession, it was widely expected to intensify into a Cyclone and the possibility
of it crossing North Tamil Nadu coast near Chennai by November 1-2 was not ruled out. If this system over the South Andaman sea and adjoining Southeast Bay of Bengal intensifies into a Cyclone, unlike the Very Severe Cyclonic Storm Arnab which moved away towards the Andhra Pradesh coast without hitting Tamil Nadu, there was a likelihood of it crossing the North Tamil Nadu coast close to Chennai.
This is the fourth back to back system to form over the bay ever since the onset of Northeast Monsoon which remained active and vigorous. The first system formed over Arabian sea and the second over South Coastal Tamil Nadu brought heavy to very rains in various parts of the state. The third system developed into Cyclonic Storm Arnab, which had crossed the Andhra Pradesh coast Wednesday morning.
After athe present brief lull, the new Low Pressure was expected to revive the rainfall activity, with the showers, according to private weather bloggers, likely to be heavy in North coastal Tamil Nadu including Chennai and adjoining districts from November one.
