Assam walks away with lion's share of honours at North East Zone Badminton Championship

Shillong, Sep 19 (UNI) Assam swept the team titles at the Yonex-Sunrise North East Zone Inter-State Badminton Championship 2026, with their senior men's and women's squads also clinching qualification spots for the 2027 National Games in Meghalaya.
Assam won five of the individual championship finals, with Mizoram and Manipur taking two each and Arunachal Pradesh one.
On Thursday, Assam had won all of the team championship titles in men's, women's, U-19 boys' and U-19 girls'.

Dublin, Sep 28 (UNI) Ed Joyce joins the Ireland men’s senior side as their high-performance batting coach, after spending nearly six years at the helm for the women’s side as their head coach before stepping down in early 2025.
Joyce, regarded as one of the best batsmen to come out of the Irish cricket system, enjoyed an illustrious career with the national setup between 2011 and 2018.
