Five from Hyderabad to represent India at prestigious international tournament

Hyderabad, July 1 (UNI) The Football 7 Association India (F7AI) on Tuesday announced the selection of five outstanding individuals from Hyderabad to represent India at the prestigious Coupe Intercontinentale Football7 – France 2025, an international 7-a-side football tournament scheduled from July 3 to 7, at Stade des Bords de Marne, Noisy Le Grand, France.
Following the All-India selection trials held in Mumbai, the selected players and coach from Hyderabad are Zubair Bin Sultan – Centre Forward, Mazher Ali – Stopper Back, Viven Walter – Midfielder, Mir Zubair Ali – Stopper.
These five are among a total of 15 individuals selected nationwide to represent India at this elite event.
Hyderabad-based Sports Village CEO and multisport promoter Mohammad Shamsuddin will be the main sponsor for these five Indian players, supporting their journey to the global stage.
This remarkable achievement is a testament to the players’ exceptional talent, discipline, and dedication, marking a proud moment for Indian football and a significant milestone in the growth of the 7-a-side format in the country.
The Coupe Intercontinentale Foot7 is organized by Yuvha Games, in collaboration with the Asian Football 7 League (AF7L) and the Global Association Football 7 (GAF7).
The tournament brings together top teams from countries including Russia, Nepal, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand.
India continues to emerge as a frontrunner in promoting and developing 7-a-side football in Asia.
In April 2023, the Asia 7’s Football7 Senior League was launched in Manila, Philippines, where India secured a runner-up finish, with Japan taking the title.
India also became the first Asian country to participate in the GAF7 World Cup, highlighting its rising stature on the global stage.
The F7AI congratulated the selected players and coach and extends its best wishes.
