New Delhi, May 18 (UNI) Shubman Gill on Sunday joined an exclusive group of batsmen to have scored 5,000 runs in T20s, achieving the milestone in 154 innings.
Though not the fastest, Gill's entry into this elite club highlights his consistent performance in the shortest format of the game. The fastest to reach 5,000 runs remains Chris Gayle, who did so in 132 innings. Other members include K L Rahul (143 innings), Shaun Marsh and Devon Conway (144 innings each) and Babar Azam (145 innings).
Since his T20 international debut in 2017, Gill has been a key figure in India's limited-overs setup. Known for his elegant stroke play and ability to anchor innings, he has played numerous match-winning knocks and built a reputation as one of India's most reliable top-order batsmen in T20 cricket.
