395 climbers & guides scale Mt Qomolangma from Nepal side this season

Kathmandu, May 20 (UNI) A total of 395 climbers and Sherpa guides had summited the world's tallest Mount Qomolangma by Sunday from the Nepali side during the spring climbing season, the Department of Tourism said on Tuesday.
Among the summitters of the 8,848.86-meter-high peak which straddles Nepal and China, 153 were climbers and 242 were Sherpa guides.
"The number of Sherpa guides includes a seven-member team which fixed the ropes to the peak," said a report compiled by Himal Gautam, director of the department.
The department has permitted 468 climbers from 57 countries and regions to scale Mount Qomolangma during the spring climbing season that started in April and runs through May.
