Irani Cup: Dogra, Muzaffar lead J&K’s fightback against Rest of India

New Delhi, Oct 2 (UNI) Reigning Ranji Trophy champions Jammu & Kashmir showed plenty of resilience on the second day of the Irani Cup in Srinagar, recovering from two precarious positions to take a 41-run first-innings lead over Rest of India.
After slipping to 37/4 in the morning and then 166/8 after lunch, the reigning Ranji Trophy champions were rescued by veteran Paras Dogra’s 75 and an attacking 64 off 58 balls from No. 10 Lone Nasir Muzaffar, who helped them reach 278.
Rest of India had been bowled out for 237 on the opening day, and J&K’s hopes of building a lead suffered an early blow when Mukesh Choudhary dismissed overnight batters Shubham Khajuria and Qamran Iqbal inside the first five overs.
