Bangladesh announce squad for one-off Afghanistan Test

Dhaka, Sep 19 (UNI) The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced a 15-player squad for the one-off Test against Afghanistan, to be played in the United Arab Emirates from October 9.
Najmul Hossain Shanto continues in his role as Test captain. Tanzid Hasan, Shadman Islam and Mominul Haque are the steady top-order options, with Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das present in the middle. Soumya Sarkar is also among the other batters present.
Bangladesh are coming off a historic drawn Test series against Australia, and would look to build on their recent successes.

Dublin, Sep 28 (UNI) Ed Joyce joins the Ireland men’s senior side as their high-performance batting coach, after spending nearly six years at the helm for the women’s side as their head coach before stepping down in early 2025.
Joyce, regarded as one of the best batsmen to come out of the Irish cricket system, enjoyed an illustrious career with the national setup between 2011 and 2018.
