Czechia's Privratsky wins men's 10m air rifle gold at ISSF World Cup

Cairo, Oct 13 (UNI) Czech shooter Jiri Privratsky scored 251.3 points to win the men's 10m air rifle gold medal at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup here.

Sweden's Marcus Madsen took silver with 250.2 points, while France's Dimitri Dutendas claimed bronze with 229.9.
Privratsky trailed Madsen by 0.3 points after 22 shots, but overtook the Swede on the penultimate shot, scoring 10.6 to Madsen's 9.8 to take a 0.5-point lead.
The Czech then sealed victory with a final shot of 10.7, compared with Madsen's 10.1, extending his winning margin to 1.1 points. Asked whether he had expected to win the gold medal, Privratsky said, "Not at all. Absolutely not."
"This was one of the toughest finals for me in a while because the scores were incredibly tight and very similar," he said. "Even just one shot could change everything, and that was extremely difficult."
In earlier World Cup events this season, Privratsky finished fourth in the 10m air rifle in Munich, fourth in the 50m rifle three positions in Hangzhou, and ninth in the same 50m event in Granada,
according to Xinhua.
"It actually means quite a lot because this season wasn't very good for me in World Cups, as I didn't win any medals," he said. "So this one, especially in air rifle, is very valuable."
Earlier on Monday, Singapore's Teh Xiu Yi won the women's 25m pistol gold with 38 hits, ahead of France's Heloise Fourre with 37 and Bulgaria's Miroslava Mincheva with 32.

On Sunday, India's Udhayveer Sidhu won the men's 10m air pistol gold, followed by Germany's Christian Reitz and Italy's Paolo Monna.
In earlier finals, France's Camille Jedrzejewski and Theo Moczko won the 10m air pistol mixed team gold, with Latvia's Agate Rasmane and Emils Vasermanis taking silver and Ukraine's Olena Kostevych and Pavlo Korostylov bronze.
In the 10m air rifle mixed team, Japan's Nobata Misaki and Hanakawa Naoki won gold, followed by Croatia's Anamarija Turk and Miran Maricic, and Germany's Anna Janssen and Maximilian Ulbrich.
The ISSF World Cup in Cairo is the final Rifle/Pistol World Cup of the season ahead of the World Cup Final, which will be held in Rome from December 3 to 8.
