Over 1000 fencers in action as Child National Championship begins in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 23 (UNI) More than 1000 fencers will be seen in action during five-day 14th Mini and 8th Child National Fencing Championship commenced here at Gymnasium Hall, University of Jammu.
Being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Fencing Association (JKFA), under the aegis of the Fencing Association of India (FAI), the National Sports Federation recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India, the championship will be held from September 23 to 27 wherein young athletes are competing in the Under-12 and Under-10 categories.
Director General, Youth Services and Sports, J&K, Anuradha Gupta declared open the championship while Dr. Daud Iqbal Baba, Director, Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu and Annisa Nabi, Deputy Director, Urban and Local Bodies, were also present on the occasion.
