Over 60 visually challenged chess players to vie for Odisha honours

Bhubaneswar, Sep 25 (UNI) More than 60 visually challenged chess players from across Odisha will compete for State honours at the 3rd OCAVC Odisha State Chess Championship for the Visually Challenged–2026, scheduled to be held here on September 26 and 27.
The championship, being organised by the Odisha Chess Association for the Visually Challenged (OCAVC) with the support of the Department of Sports & Youth Services (DSYS), Government of Odisha, and ProChessTA, will be conducted at ProChessTA, Bhubaneswar.
The two-day event will feature six rounds under the Swiss System, with players competing not only for State honours but also for berths in the East Zone and national-level championships.

Dublin, Sep 28 (UNI) Ed Joyce joins the Ireland men’s senior side as their high-performance batting coach, after spending nearly six years at the helm for the women’s side as their head coach before stepping down in early 2025.
Joyce, regarded as one of the best batsmen to come out of the Irish cricket system, enjoyed an illustrious career with the national setup between 2011 and 2018.
