Maha: Minister issues notices to 57 sand depots on noticing irregularities

Mumbai, Apr 19 (UNI) Maharashtra Revenue Minister Chandrashekhar Bawankule on Saturday issued notices to all 57 sand depots in the state after noticing alleged irregularities, malpractices and violation of rules.
Upon receiving complaints from public such as non-compliance with rules regarding sand transportation, lack of CCTV system and evasion in sand received from the depot, he has ordered to take immediate action on irregularities in sand depots and has warned of cancelling the depots that do not comply with the rules.
Following complaints, 10 depots in Nagpur have been temporarily suspended for violating the rules. These depots have been instructed to make improvements within seven days, otherwise a decision will be taken to close them permanently, the minister said.
