Mundhe dismisses transfer speculation as Maharashtra Food Safety crackdown continues

Mumbai, Oct 13 (UNI) Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe has dismissed speculation about his transfer, clarifying that he continues to head the department and that enforcement action against unsafe food and substandard medicines will continue across the state.
The senior IAS officer issued the clarification through a post on X on Monday night following reports suggesting his possible removal. The speculation emerged after the Maharashtra government appointed him secretary of a five-member committee on October 11 to investigate alleged question paper leaks and irregularities in Maharashtra Public Service Commission (MPSC) examinations.
Mundhe categorically denied being transferred from the FDA and reaffirmed his commitment to combating unsafe, adulterated and substandard food products, along with spurious and substandard medicines.
