Efforts on to rename Kolhapur Airport after Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj: MoS

Kolhapur, May 15 (UNI) Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation Muralidhar Mohol said on Thursday that the central government has received a proposal to rename Kolhapur Airport after 'Chhatrapati Rajaram Maharaj' and efforts are being made to get it approved in the cabinet.
Speaking after inaugurating newly constructed well-equipped ATC tower, technical building, VIP room and fire station, along with the launch of Kolhapur-Nagpur flight service of Star Air here, he said that Kolhapur Airport, established in 1939, has a historical background.
This airport is an important part of civil aviation, he informed and said that in last 10 years, the importance of civil aviation has increased across the country, and many new airlines have been started.

Three women Naxalites, 2 minors detained in Maha's Gadchiroli

Mumbai, May 20 (UNI) The police in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli district announced on Tuesday that they have arrested three women Naxalites and detained two minors from the Binagunda area in the Bhamragarh subdivision in a joint counter-offensive campaign with the Central Reserve Police Force. They were collectively carried a reward of Rs 36 lakh on their heads, officials said.
