MP Vishal Patil among 50 booked for protesting against Shaktipeeth Highway in Sangli

Sangli, July 2 (UNI) The Rural Police today registered a case against 50 people, including MP Vishal Patil, for protesting against the ongoing work of Shaktipeeth Highway here.
MP Vishal Patil and several activists of Swabhimani Shetkari Sanghatana had staged a road blockade in Sangli yesterday, demanding cancellation of Shaktipeeth Highway.
The Sangli-Kolhapur Highway and Ratnagiri-Nagpur National Highway were blocked yesterday despite the District Magistrate had imposed a prohibitory order in the district.

In violation of the prohibitory order, farmers, led by Sangli MP Vishal Patil, sat on the road and blocked the vehicular traffic on both sides of the road for an hour.
