Cases regarding missing women should be followed up until they are solved

Sangli (Maharashtra), May 23 (UNI) The police force should do its utmost to maintain law and order by effectively implementing the new criminal laws and increasing convictions, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said on Friday.
.
Fadnavis, who was speaking from the chair of the crime review meeting of the police force, said the reasons behind the acquittal of cases should be studied and the errors eliminated. A review should be conducted on a police station-wise basis where the rate of acquittal of the accused is high.
He said the rate of return of goods seized in property crimes should be increased, and that while conducting preventive action against drugs, closed chemical companies in the industrial sector should be surveyed and inspected. He gave instructions to inform all the relevant police stations in the district for this.
Congratulating the district for its good performance in maintaining law and order during the elections, he said, "Crimes related to the disappearance of women should be followed up until the case is resolved. Police station-wise tracking of the crimes registered in this regard and how many women have returned should be done. A special campaign should be launched in this regard. He suggested setting up a separate system for cases under the Motor Vehicle Act." UNI SSS
