Bombay HC dismisses petition on alleged increase in voting by 76 lakhs, filed by Prakash Ambedkar

Mumbai, June 25 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today dismissed a petition on alleged increase in voter numbers by 76 lakhs after voting hours in the Maharashtra Assembly elections last year, filed by Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, headed by Adv Prakash Ambedkar.

All the opposition parties had raised doubts on the results of the assembly elections in the state and targeted the Election Commission.

MP Sanjay Raut and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had directly questioned the Election Commission and said that the figure of 76 lakh voters, which increased after 6 pm, was suspicious.

The head of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi, Prakash Ambedkar, approached the High Court on the issue.

After hearing both the sides, the court give its verdict by dismissing Prakash Ambedkar's petition today. The court also observed that the court's time was wasted.

Chetan Chandrakant Ahire of the Vanchit Bahujan Aghadi filed the petition in the court and Adv. Prakash Ambedkar appeared in the court, which rejected his petition today.
